A message from Universal regarding the new Fast & Furious roller coaster:
“Thank you for your continued patience throughout the testing process. We know how important it is to have clear, timely information, and we sincerely appreciate the feedback you shared. Please know that your concerns have been heard and thoughtfully reviewed and considered by our senior leadership team.
Based on the testing completed to date, we can confirm the attraction is operating in compliance with sound ordinance requirements. However, based on your feedback, we are exploring additional measures to further lessen sound levels experienced in adjacent neighborhoods. While these efforts will help lessen sound, we anticipate that the community may continue to hear the attraction during operation.
During the week of August 10, the company will begin installing the additional sound barrier with expected completion in early September. Tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, technical rehearsals with riders will resume. During these technical rehearsals, the ride will operate with reduced hours, 9:00am – 7:00pm, and we will continue to monitor sound during this time. As we move into Halloween Horror Nights, we will begin operating the coaster until 10:00 pm.
We will also be reaching out to schedule a community meeting in the near future. We remain committed to keeping you informed and appreciate your feedback.”
